About Me

I'm an author and freelance journalist, venturing into the world of 'blogs' for the first time. Although I usually write from dreams, these are purely formed from my own opinions, observations and general silliness. If you're feeling brave, why not read a couple? Or if you want to go back to the safety of nice, familiar books, venture back to the main site.

Haunted? - Posted on 2/22/2009

Before I say more, let me first state that my flat was built in the 1880s - plenty scope for some event/tragedy to happen in all that time.

So when I got back after being out one night, and my partner told me this story, it gave me the chills:

It was getting on a bit, and my partner (let's use his 'special' nickname, Bixie) was working away diligently at his computer when he saw me (or he assumed it was me) walk past the bedroom door, along the corridor, from left to right. So he started talking to me, as you do, asking how my night went etc. but of course he got no answer. So going to investigate the situation further, he found the flat was empty. Thinking little of it and slightly miffed at this point, he returned to the PC to get back to his work (or whatever he was doing). Only five minutes later, he saw exactly the same thing going the other way, from right to left, past the bedroom door! He described it to me as a 'full on figure' which looked like me, only dressed in black (which I wasn't - I was dressed rather brightly and quite far away in a nice safe bar at the time).

This isn't the first time something has 'happened' either. I was by myself in our living room one night when a musical snow globe starting playing by itself from across the room. As far as I know, it hadn't been touched since Christmas and we've been walking past it, jumping around it, shaking it etc. since and haven't managed to make it play unless we turn the key to do so.

Very strange, no?

I haven't actually seen a ghost, but when I'm alone in the flat now I find myself wondering if I'm going to see anything and for someone with an over-active imagination like mine, that isn't good!

Freaky.
