![]() LIDL oranges - Posted on 2/22/2009I ventured out to LIDL for the first time the other week, and I have to say I've only just recovered from the experience! People were pushing past and it was generally a wholly different atmosphere than my usual shopping experience (ADSA, TESCO etc.) but it was most certainly an experience! Although some of the food there was cheaper, there were a lot of brands I didn't recognise (as pretty much expected) and myself and my partner had a good giggle over the 'Bixies' (basically another brand of Wheatabix) as 'Bixie' is generally my nickname for him. I was a bit disappointed that they had no digestive biscuits and the way you have to rush your items and bags you've purchased over to a separate counter to pack yourself to make room for other miserable-looking customers, really didn't help me warm to the shop. But the oranges! The oranges (clementines, you know, the smaller ones?) are amazing! Not only are they fresh, really juicy and far better than Tesco but they also come in a sort of variety pack! No, not on purpose, but no orange from the pack seemed to look or taste alike! They are all different sizes and shades of orange, and whereas some are sweet, one was the sourest orange I've ever had in my life! They should market them as variety oranges, just like Kelloggs do with variety packs of cereal - I swear, more people would be interested. It makes going through a pack of oranges far more out of the ordinary. Oranges, love them!! Add a comment |
