The Healer and the Hurricane
Towards the centre of all things
There had to be one who would grow wings
Among the two of us one could fly
Believed I could if I tried
As time passed us by
Time slow, time past, time lasts
Underneath the sparkling sky
Energy grabbed me up and swallowed me whole
And I never asked why
But over time it had to die
Healer of the great, healer of the darkening hour
Tried to fight while everything around turned sour
Storms abound, clouds and debris flies
Never around, never want to demand why
Our love had to die.
Tearing apart from powerful wind
Flying around yet still under my wing
Crying and breathing and wanting something in-between
And never wondering what else could have been
Or what we had saved.
Built it up and broke it down
Every day thought I’d drown
In love that slowly stole my breath
Waiting for its final death...
Until there was nothing left of us.
